Rating: - Impressive 4.5 star solo Debut
Killer Mike came out hard for his debut and really grabbed my attention. His lyrics and wordplay are good, and he has his own unique style that he pulls off very well. I did not expect it to be near as good as it is. There is no weak song of the 15 on here (if you let it play after track 15 there is another song at track 30). It has 1 classic, 2 almost classics, many good or great songs and 4 ok ones. The production (all handled by producers from the south) is good as well (and I'm someone who is more of a fan of west or east coast rap). Beat Bullies do 5 songs, Swiffman does 3, Cool & Dre, Andre 3000 of Outkast, Mr. DJ all do 2 each, and Lil Jon does 1. Guests are on a good amount of the songs (rapping on about 6 or 7 and doing the hook on a lot as well) but Killer Mike still shines out on this one. A must have album.

Monster was da best CD of 2003 that didn't get dat much reconition from the big award shows. But Mike still sold out da hood wit this classic CD. He is one of tha best rappers comin from da A, and most people just slept on this CD. If u did u need to go pick dat up right now.

like killer said he's "an ungodly figure" and i agree. what makes his album so good first off is he's orginal. he sounds like no one else. his stlye grabs by the throat and does'nt let go. killers lyrics are on heavyweight status because his wordplay is just as clever as jay-z and eminem's. the producation on here is top rate because u know that dungeon family music be str8 bumpin'.

only one song on here is totally whack and i don't understand WHY he put it on there. its called in the club or something, it doesn't fit with the vibe of the album. another big plus about MONSTER is its short and to the point. u won't find no filler tracks on here except that one i mentioned earlier. killer mike says RAP IS DEAD, but listening to him puts it on life support. Hotep!!

Rating: - Amazing
This Atlanta-based rapper is amazing, his rhymes are tight and he sounds like the teenage Ice Cube of N.W.A. a bit. Maybe that's one of the things that made me like him, because I just bought it when I have nothing else to do with my money. I think he's an excellent MC. Ad he's going directly to the success
