Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Tiësto's Turn Of The Millennium Mix For The U.S.
This is Tiësto's first commercial release in the United States, and it's an excellent introduction to his style.

The cargo is light with only 12 tracks, making this a great set for listeners unfamiliar with trance compilations. And count them: 1, 2, 3, 4 of the tracks here are songs (whether remixed or not) that Tiësto featured on his all-time classic In Search Of Sunrise only a year before this release.

They are:
Yahel - Going Up (Magikal Remake)
Cabala - Dark Blue (Original Mix)
Kamaya Painters - Far From Over (Oliver Lieb Remix)
DJ Tiësto - Sparkles (Transa Remix)

On top of that, note that both Armin van Buuren's Universal Religion Mix of Aria's Dido and Major League's (Tiësto & Armin van Buuren's group) Wonder were both featured on Armin van Buuren's Boundaries Of Imagination. This definitive classic was also released in 1999. By the way, Buuren's remix of Dido is beyond criticism. I was enthralled the first time I heard this mix, because Tiësto actually let's the song play from the very beginning. This is the perfect opener. It lets you know you're about to be cast into orbit. Dido is easily one of Armin's best remixes.

In Search Of Sunrise and Boundaries of Imagination are the two greatest trance compilations ever made. Are you adding this up?

This set was a great start for Tiësto's U.S. exposure. The mixing, as usual, is flawless. The tempo here is higher than on In Search Of Sunrise. The song selection is superb. The mix from Dreaming through Light Over Me always puts me in a trance, thanks mostly to Tiësto's unbelievable remix of Going Up.

Caught Me Running may not appeal to all, but if you can dig tracks with male vocals, you will love this song. Dark Blue is a classic, and with the mix's higher tempo it really hits the spot. No More Tears is a somewhat of a disappointment, not because the song isn't good, but because it pales in comparison to other versions of it.

Far From Over, another classic track, is remixed superbly by trance-master Oliver Lieb. He takes the melody of the original and reworks it completely. His effects are amazing once you hear you will not question why Tiësto featured on "Summerbreeze." It also mixes with lucid ease into Dawnseekers' Gothic Dream, which is another awesome cut.

The Transa Remix of Sparkles is the only other track on the mix that disappoints me. Once again, the song is actually good. It just cannot compare to other versions of it, especially Tiësto's Magikal Remake. Oh well. It doesn't really matter, because the next song is quite possibly the greatest trance song ever made.

DJ Tiësto's In Search Of Sunrise Remix of Silence by Delerium is... quite frankly, IT. It is what me and my friends call "that business." It is serious. This song pretty much marks a turning point in my life. For me, Silence is the song the sealed the deal for a life of devotion to trance. Folks, it really doesn't get better than this. Hearing it for the first time, under the right circumstances, is equivalent to having the greatest... well, I'll let you decide for yourself. This song has been featured on other mixes a remarkable number of times, but this is the oldest mix I've heard it featured on, and the first time Tiësto has featured it on a U.S. commercial release.

And Wonder? Armin van Buuren closed the door to Boundaries Of Imagination with this song, so do you think it's a mistake that Tiësto did? Tiësto's really pats Buuren on the back with this mix, both beginning and ending it with his help. No wonder.

Overall, despite minor flaws, this is an awesome mix. It's essential Tiësto, and it's a must have for any trance lover. The title of the mix fits perfectly.

If you're getting into trance, this is a great place to start.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Different but good
I've ownd this cd since it was first released. It's different for a Tiesto mix cd. This is due to the fact that it was his first release on a North American label; hence it was geared to our market. This is probably the most "unique" Tiesto cd there is, and that can be good or bad. If you heard it without knowing who was mixing, you may not think it was Tiesto. That being said, it is overall a very good mix. In typical Tiesto fashion, he starts out slow, lets the music peak towards the end and ends on a high note with Sparkles. Probably not a "must have" except for fans and collectors, but a decent fun mix, though now a little dated.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This is NOT ISOS or Magik
This is for all those who get disappointed with this album after going through Tiesto's ISOS and Magik series.
Yes, like these series....this is uplifting music with that noticeable Tiesto feelgood factor. and this is where similarity ends. Summerbreeze actually comes across as a fresh summer breeze along the coastline of ... umm maybe Sagres! :) It takes you further ahead from where ISOS and Magik leave. Infusing you with energy throughout its tight song play.
Its quite progressive, nicely mixed with a decently high BPM.

Summerbreeze is that one album which made me think twice about doubting Tiesto's DJing abilities, which earlier I thought were limited to only one domain. Boy was I wrong!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - our cosmic temple never closes its doors
Tiesto's Summerbreeze is warm and refreshing. A captivating release, featuring some hot female vocals. They take the listener on an emotional rollercoaster through our galaxy. Sometimes a cosmic cathedral, sometimes the Blue river. Sometimes a computer factory, and finally the discotheque to the stars. Definitely one of Mr.Tiesto's greatest.
