Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Lover Revealed
Excellent vampire series, especially if you're into Vampire Erotica, sounds a little Harlequine Romancy but this line of books has a very strong continuous story with a wonderful devotion amongst it characters and their mates. I found myself getting emotionally attached to each brother and their different personality traits. I can't wait for the next chapter to come out!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Best since Wrath....Butch's Story
Ok, so don't start this story before you've read the others....you will NOT understand most of the story.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - And so a destroyer was born
When I first read about Butch and Marissa in the first book, I wasn't quite taken by either of them. My impression of her was spineless, and him annoying. I wasn't certain what to expect from this book, but I knew I had to read it as I immensely enjoyed the first three. And J. R. Ward once again delivers!

Butch O'Neal is an ex-homicide detective who has earned the privilege of being welcomed into the dark and dangerous world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. But after months of living off their generosity, Butch is ready to delve deeper into the vampire world - that means joining the Brotherhood's fight against the Lessening Society. Thus when he stumbles upon a civilian vampire being attacked by a group of lesser, the inner cop in him prevails much to his detriment. Butch falls prey to the power of the Omega who infects him with his evil. The Brotherhood discovered him hanging on by a thread, to realize that the only one who could possibly save him is the woman he could never have.

Orphaned, unmated and shunned. This is how Marissa has lived her life for as long as she could remember. She should have been queen had their king felt even an ounce of passion for her. And because of this, she has been ostracized by the glymera. Just when she has finally found the person that would bring meaning to her lonely existence, he turns out to be human. But now Butch needs her help. And only Marissa's love can save his life and his soul.

Wow! Did Ward just set up the stage for the future of this series?! With Butch's transition comes the revelation of something extraordinary. While he thought himself ordinary and alone in the world, his bloodline will reveal a power greater than anything he could ever have imagined. We learn about Butch's family and the nature of his conception. A prophecy is revealed and the Brotherhood now has the most powerful weapon in their hands to fight the Lessening Society. Marissa gets a backbone and a whole new family. And let us not forget John Matthew whose own story holds a lot of promise for more great reading. LOVER REVEALED was a great read.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Probably my favorite in the series
I didn't expect to like this book as much as the former books in the series because Butch, the hero, is a human. I was pleasantly surprised. This book rivals Zsadist's story as my favorite of the 5 books I've read. I have to agree with others who have commented on the lack of character of the heroines. To me its more that the heroines are not strong enough for the macho male heroes, not that they lack character. I think I would enjoy the series even more (6 stars!!) if the heroines were more worthy of these alpha males.
