She has kept a rich seam of photo-graphs and memorabilia from her life, and her parents, family life, childhood, teenage and early years as an actress living in insalubrious flats are vividly documented.

Helen's many distinguished roles in theatre, cinema and television and the illustrious men and women she has encountered are commemorated, as well as her forays into Hollywood and her sub-sequent life in the United States with her husband, film director Taylor Hackford. This is a photo-filled memoir that is as enjoyable to look at as to read. It is quite comprehensive covering her childhood all the way to the awards season for The Queen.

This is a beautiful book. Even if you don't read through it for the interesting life of this wonderful actress, the photos are really fabulous--I had never seen most of them before. I ordered it, thinking that it was going to be a autobiography, but it is so much more.
