Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Bennett-Alexander and Hartman's, Employment Law for Business, 4/e, addresses law and employment decisions from a managerial perspective. It is intended to instruct students on how to manage effectively and efficiently with full comprehension of the legal ramifications of their decisions. Students are shown how to think and analyze employment law facts using concrete examples of management-related legal dilemmas without clear-cut solutions. The methods of arriving at resolutions are emphasized, so that when the facts of the workplace problem are not quite the same, the student can still reach a good decision based on the legal considerations required by law, which remain relevant.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Smooth for the most part
The purchase experience was pretty smooth and the book was obtained at a reasonable price. The only issue I had was that the seller never responded to any of my e-mails. I did desire next day delivery but got no where with it. Other than that, it went fine.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - broken book
I received the book in a timely manner. The book binding was broken. Some of the pages fell out.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Conditions and great service
The book is excellent; a perfect companion for someone who is looking for a quick reference in labor law from the employers point of view. I recommend this book. The service was excellent, no complains.
Thanks

Regulating the employment environment is an inherently liberal idea, designed to protect "common" workers at the expense of the organization and its representatives. Whether you like this system or not is irrelevant; this is the way that employment law in the US currently exists, and the book describes it accurately without any more "bias" than any other book on the topic.

As for the flow and writing, the authors do throw a lot of terminology at the reader in the first few chapters, but this is unavoidable when trying to translate an advanced legal topic for an audience without any legal training. Despite this challenge, the writing and explanations are very clear, and many difficult concepts are illustrated with EXCELLENT case ... Read More
