For Celtic Thunder, Sharon Browne has teamed up with Grammy-nominated Irish songwriting and composing veteran Phil Coulter to produce a show that includes an eclectic mix of songs ranging from the traditional 'Mountains of Mourne' and 'Come By the Hills' to international hits such as 'Brothers in Arms' and 'Desperado,' as well as original compositions by Coulter, who has written hits for Elvis Presley ('My Boy') and the Bay City Rollers, and performed with Van Morrison, Tom Jones, and the Rolling Stones. The ensemble numbers in Celtic Thunder reflect the power of the vocalists, who range in age from 14 to 40, and feature songs that celebrate a common Celtic heritage.

- Magnificent, and that's not a strong enough word!!
I thought I'd gotten old and jaded. I've seen the Beatles live (Forest Hills Stadium, NYC 1964); and the whole gamut from Rick James to Hank, Jr. Video - or live - this is the best concert I've seen in my life. Five magnificent voices, five distinctive styles, carefully melded into a series of individual and group performances. A young teen (Damian McGinty) who will absolutely knock your socks off; Paul Byrom, a genuine Irish Tenor, who's doing his best work in a group format; Ryan Kelly, a young accountant who's living his dream with a killer voice; Keith Harkin a future solo superstar singer, guitarist, and composer who the whole world will hear from soon; and George Donaldson, a Scottish folk singer, who cannot be ignored by the Broadway stage. - The Slightly Negative First Impression Wore Off FAST!
The gaunt face and dark mood of the cover artwork do not match the bulk of the show at all. The first number also seemed an attempt to prove the show had some somber edge. The first listen-thru sounded vaguely anti-war. But the voices and the harmonies grew on me, as did their personalities. What sounded anti-war was actually anti-Irish-infighting and pro-Irish-unity. Great sound, interesting lyrics in spots. Now, the whole neighborhood is listening and watching and trying to get more copies and tickets to the live show!
