- Best Travel Printer
I've been using the IP90 for several years. (I'll replace it with the IP90v if it ever dies but it doesn't show any sign of that so far.)

Pro: It's very small and light, even with the optional battery. It fits in the laptop bag or backpack next to the computer. Without the battery it's about the size and weight of a hard cover book.

I originally bought it for printing text on the road (boarding passes, email, web pages, maps & directions, etc.) and it does that very well: fast and high quality. It handles paper up to 8.5X11. I do a lot of digital photography and normally print at home on the HP desktop machines. I tried a few 4X6 snaps just for the heck of it and the quality was very good so I started experimenting with bigger prints on 8X11 photo paper. The quality was excellent, better than some of the bigger, more expensive HPs at home.

- Theoretically great, extremely fragile in reality
The ip90 promised to be an excellent printer, and for the time it worked, it was. However, within printing a few dozen pages under normal use (and I stress the word normal - it wasn't banged about or otherwise damaged) the printer became incapable of feeding pages in straight and would pull them in at an angle causing the printing to be skewed. No amount of adjusting the amount of paper or hand aligning would alleviate the problem.

Eventually I took it to the Canon repair centre and after they repaired it, within a few days, the text became misaligned, printing one pixel to the left about every five centimetres down the page. This may not seem like much, and if you're printing text it may not be much (though it will certainly be noticeable) but if you print any graphics or lines it will be painfully obvious. - Travel and Need a Printer - Buy This One
On occasion I travel as a special investigator. In the past I've relied on hotel business centers to print documents I needed before going back to the office. After doing extensive research on portable printers, and somewhat relying on the Canon name, I purchased the Pixma iP90v. This printer is fast, compact, and lightweight. Not only does it quickly spit out black and white, it's color printing capability is better than many inkjets. Although the price seemed a little high considering the current cost of inkjet printers, it was well worth the investment. I highly recommend it if you need a printer "on the road."

I had a I70 for 4 years and it work fine but I started having problems with the print head for color prints. I purchase a IP90v to replace the I70. I use it in my job. I move around a lot and the printer does a great job. Using the right paper the IP90v does a great job on pictures also.
