Product Description:
Lots of women put their careers aside once the kids come along. Kate Connor, for instance, hasn't hunted a demon in ages.

That must be why she missed the one wandering through the pet food aisle of the San Diablo Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, he managed to catch her attention an hour later-when he crashed into the Connor house, intent on killing her.

Now Kate has to clean up the mess in her kitchen, dispose of a dead demon, and pull together a dinner party that will get her husband elected to County Attorney-all without arousing her family's suspicion. Worse yet, it seems the dead demon didn't come alone...

It's time for Kate Connor to go back to work.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Borrow, Don't Buy This Book
I found the degree of detail about the day life of a stay at home mom to be a bit stultifying, especially because she was using the mall, her best friend, a preschool, the television and her husband to keep the kids occupied while she fought demons. Sometimes it was amusing, more often in the beginning. The kids were also pretty realistic, if annoying. However, that Kate was behaving a bit dim was pretty clear from early on-- not even the first person view point could hide that very early in the book she had all the information she needed to avoid a Big Misunderstanding and figure out who the villain was.

In conclusion, the book was a pretty good time passer but don't try to apply logic to it. I also have to admit that I don't know anyone who lives this lifestyle (the soccer mom bit although no one seems to play soccer in her family) so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I can really identify... well kinda!
I loved this book and have begun #2 (I like it so far). This book is a great read for laughs and understanding what Kate goes through (as a mom anyway). I recommend.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Interesting read
I enjoyed this book and will probably read the next in the series. I liked the premise that there are ordinary people out there fighting the good fight for the rest of us. There was just enough demon hunting action to keep me wanting to read more about Kate and her life in suburbia hunting and killing demons.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - They better give Joss Whedon a nickel...
They better give Joss Whedon a nickel every time someone buys this book. This is Buffy without the humor. The author has no unique ideas and the plot/characters are completely derivative (female demon hunter hiding her true identity with a internet researching sidekick, she also kills the demon with a hair pin/stick... ever heard this before). Don't buy this book, just go watch Buffy.
