Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Recovery Handbook
Good, comprehensive resource book for somebody in recovery. It provides a lot of specifics about recovery and dealing with life sober. I work in the field, and my client have found this to be a helpful book when faced with different challenges.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Simplistic and much too focused on 12 step
I bought this book ten years ago, when I first quit drinking. While it does contain some useful information, it is written in an overly simplistic, almost juvenile style that I found extremely annoying. Also, although there is a brief section on different treatment alternatives, all of the advice in the book assumes that the reader has chosen to go to AA/NA, so it really isn't a fair representation of the many alternatives out there.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great book

This is ludicrous and false. Methadone is the gold standard of treatment for pregnant opioid addicts. Tapering a pregnant mother off methadone can and often does result in fetal death, even when done slowly. The infant does not have the resources to deal with an unmedicated, in utero withdrawal. It is well known within the medical community that pregnant mothers must be maintained on their methadone until ... Read More
