Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not Excessive - Just Your Typical "Sex, Drugs and Rock N' Roll" Thing
That cliche of "Never judge a book by its cover" was never so true when it comes to this product. What made me interested in this book in the first place and made me read it thoroughly in just two days is the simple fact that it was about one of my greatest music idols in my teenager years - and still is today - Slash.

I thought the book interesting based on the fact that it is almost all about Guns N' Roses, which is no surprise, since the band took a great deal of his lifetime. Since I was a band fan, most of the happenings that are described in the book are not exactly a surprise. Anyone who followed the band through MTV or music magazines somehow knew what was going on until they disbanded. However, it is great that finally Slash, who was a part of it, decided to put into words his own perspective on what was going on, and confirmed basically everything which was reported at that time. One side of ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - you need to understand the situation
This might be a short argument but this is a good book, pretty clear and funny biography. If you are a fan of GN and have live a similar crazy life as any of the character of the band, you might find the book very interesinting and funny. It brings all kind of memories about things that you had done when you were a teenager. I am not saying that it is ok to do stuped things, special when people get hurt, but the story of Slash' life is similar as mine; exept that I did not became famus, make money or anything similar. Although, the book related all this kind of stories, it is very well explained about what really happen with the band and its members. I think that the book is really good, and every penny that you pay is worthy. The book is just for entertaiment, and for GN and Slash' fans. If you dislike the book is because you refuse to understand what is like to live an out of control life, or you are too boring to ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Above average rock biography
I thought this to be an above average rock biography.

It has a lot of cliches, but it's fast paced and, thanks, it gives at least a little insight into production process or inspiration about creation of the songs.

Anyway, it's always amazing how guys like Slash (and his pals at GNR) manage to achieve success. Slash says he was a thief at the time, stealing everything. Than, the guy was addicted or close to addiction to every drug imaginable. Still, they can play night after night and create and produce and have realtionships... It's a mystery.

I recommend this book iy you're a GNR or Slash fan. Just don't expect any counselling from him. :)

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Interesting book from an interesting person
I've always been a fan of Guns & Roses. I've found their stories all interesting. Slash is truly unique. His biography tells all, the good the bad and everything in between. I love this guy!!
